Mission of PNGE
|
The mission of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department is to provide undergraduate and graduate level engineers, conduct research, and serve for the petroleum and natural gas industry and its relevant sectors worldwide, and to contribute for the sustainable development of the nation and for the commonalty in the utilization of subsurface energy resources.
In addition to fulfilling the objectives consistent with the department's mission, our vision is to keep our quality comparable to the highly credited departments of the internationally well-known universities.

Educational Objectives
|
The educational objectives of the petroleum and natural gas engineering undergraduate program: |
1. Graduates will be competent engineers and/or researchers in the local and international
petroleum, natural gas, and geothermal related industries and/or academia. |
2. Graduates will continuously develop skills to evolve in their jobs. |
3. Graduates will demonstrate high standards of ethical, environmental, and societal
awareness with excellent communication skills. |

Student Outcomes (Undergraduate)
|
Targeted outcomes of the program are:
|
1. The acquisition and application of knowledge on mathematics, basic sciences, geosciences,
and engineering sciences for the solution of petroleum, natural gas and geothermal
engineering problems;
|
2. The development of students' capabilities in ability to design experiments, systems,
components and processes, and to analyze and interpret data;
|
3. The development of students' ability in the awareness of health, safety, and environmental
issues involved in technological implementations along with the professional and ethical
responsibilities;
|
4. The development of students' ability to conduct projects and work as a part of a team;
|
5. The development and improvement of students' ability in oral and written communications
and in using information technologies;
|
6. The utilization of acquired broad education in the implementations of engineering and
entrepreneurship in terms of legal, political, social and economical issues;
|
7. The recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in life-long learning with the
awareness of contemporary issues.
